Jays' Josh Donaldson (calf) not ready to be activated from DL on Friday
Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson (calf) is not ready to come off the DL.
Donaldson was taking batting practice on Thursday but considered himself iffy to be ready to play on Friday. The possibility remains he is activated sometime this weekend, but Toronto appears to be in no rush. Yangervis Solarte will continue to start at third base in Donaldson's absence.
Donaldson got off to a slow start before the injury, batting just .234 with 5 homers and 16 RBI in 159 plate appearances.
