Red Sox's Dustin Pedroia (knee) singles in first Triple-A rehab game

Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) went 1-for-3 with a run scored during his first rehab game with Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday.

What It Means:

“Everything felt great, so I’m pretty happy,” Pedroia said after also logging five innings at second base. He expects to play designated hitter on Tuesday before sitting out Wednesday and Thursday, and then playing three straight over the weekend. There isn't a definitive timetable for Pedroia's return but the 34-year-old veteran sounds encouragingly optimistic.

numberFire's models project Pedroia to hit .276 with 8 homers, 48 RBI, 50 runs scored, and 4 steals this season.
