Arizona's Jake Lamb (shoulder) to start a rehab assignment on Sunday

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb (shoulder) is set to begin a rehab assignment with the Single-A Visalia Rawhide on Sunday.

What It Means:

Lamb has been out since early April with a shoulder sprain and will likely need a few games in the minors to get back into game-ready shape. Barring any setbacks, the third baseman could be activated from the DL and back up to the big leagues by the end of next week.

Our models project Lamb for 6 homers, 18 RBI, and a .252 batting average in 131 plate appearances for the rest of the season.
