Jung Ho Kang obtains U.S. work visa and will rejoin Pirates
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jung Ho Kang has been granted a U.S. work visa and will reportedly rejoin the Pirates in a matter of days.
It's surprising news after Kang missed all of last season after he was denied a work visa following a third DUI arrest in December of 2016. He'll presumably need some time before he's ready to join the major league roster, but it looks like we should see him back on the field at some point this season.
In 2016, Kang hit .255/.354/.513 with 45 runs, 21 home runs, and 62 RBIs over 370 plate appearances.
