Johnny Cueto (ankle) placed on the 10-day DL by the Giants
San Francisco Giants pitcher Johnny Cueto (ankle) was placed on the 10-day DL, retroactive to April 7.
Cueto sprained his ankle in his last start but still managed to go 6 innings. The injury is considered minor with the Giants expecting him to miss only 1 or 2 starts. Tyler Beede will remain in the rotation for at least one more start with Ty Blach moving up to pitch on Wednesday. Steven Okert was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding roster move.
Cueto is projected for a 4.08 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 151 strikeouts in 165 1/3 innings pitched the rest of the season, by our models.
