Stephen Piscotty stays hot, smokes two-run homer in Cardinals' loss

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Stephen Piscotty wrapped up a superb postseason by hitting a two-run homer in the Cardinals' season-ending 6-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night.

What It Means:

Piscotty mashed a two-run homer in the top of the first, giving the Cardinals a 2-0 cushion before the Cubs recorded an out. Chicago responded with a four-spot in the second inning and finished the game with three home runs after hitting five in Monday's Game 3.

Piscotty, who also homered Monday night, ends the playoffs with a silly 1.081 OPS. In 256 big-league plate appearances in 2015, the rookie posted a .364 wOBA and 7 long balls. With Jason Heyward an impending free agent, Piscotty could be staring at a big role for St. Louis in 2016.
