Cubs' Jorge Soler can't stop getting on base
Chicago Cubs outfielder Jorge Soler belted a two-run homer and reached base in all four plate appearances in Monday's Game 3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Soler drew a walk in each of his first two plate appearances, singled and scored in the third and then extended the Cubs' lead with a longball in the sixth. After not starting the Wild Card Game or Game 1 of the National League Division Series, Soler has now reached base in all nine of his plate appearances in the series and has gone deep twice. The Cubs smashed six home runs in the game.
In 404 plate appearances this season, Soler posted a disappointing .312 wOBA, but he's found his stroke in the postseason. He'll look to keep it going Tuesday as the Cubs aim to move on.
