Marcus Stroman to start Game 2 of division series for Blue Jays
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman will start Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the Texas Rangers.
Not shockingly, David Price will start Game 1 for the Jays. Stroman is still only five months removed from a torn ACL that prevented him from making his 2015 debut until September 12th.
The 24-year-old righty was electric in his four starts off the disabled list. He had a 3.34 xFIP with 6.00 strikeouts and 2.00 walks per nine innings with a 64.1 ground-ball rate. The strikeout rate may be low, but he did increase his total output in each start, topping out with eight over eight innings in his final outing of the regular season. Over 130 2/3 innings last year, Stroman had a 3.17 xFIP.
