Nationals' Bryce Harper (knee) still a 'long way from running'
Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper (knee, calf) is a "long ways from running," manager Dusty Baker said Wednesday.
Harper hasn't played since August 12 after suffering a bone bruise in his left knee and a calf strain in his left leg. Jayson Werth is working as the Nationals' everyday right fielder and Howie Kendrick will continue to see most of the starts in left.
Harper is slashing .326/419/.614 with a .425 wOBA, 29 home runs, 87 RBI, and 92 runs scored in 472 plate appearances this season.
