Jose Abreu has big day in Chicago win
Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and a walk in Thursday afternoon's win over the Minnesota Twins.
Abreu's driven in 80 runs this season, but he left the RBI duties to his teammates in Thursday's tilt. The two doubles gave him 30 for the season. He's now five off of the number he smacked last year.
With a .292/.347/.506 slash line and 24 home runs, he's broken through the notion of a sophomore slump with flying colors. He hasn't quite matched the power numbers from his rookie effort, but he's still sporting a .360 wOBA. His 1.92 nERD ranks 33rd among hitters. We have him projected for a hot finish with an .809 OPS and five homers the rest of the way.
