Jose Reyes not starting for Mets on Thursday night
New York Mets shortstop/third baseman Jose Reyes is not starting on Thursday night against the San Diego Padres.
It's a rare day off for Reyes, who hasn't been out of the Mets' starting lineup since June 25. He's slashing .228/.290/.391 with 9 home runs, 38 RBI, 43 runs scored, and 13 steals in 375 plate appearances (96 games) this season. Asdrubal Cabrera is at shortstop while Matt Reynolds draws the start at third base.
numberFire's models project Reyes to record a .262 batting average with 5 homers, 21 RBI, 31 runs scored, and 9 steals in 230 remaining plate appearances this year.
