Kyle Schwarber (ribs) scratched from Cubs' lineup Wednesday
Chicago Cubs rookie Kyle Schwarber has been scratched from the team's lineup Wednesday with soreness in his ribs.
Schwarber had been slated to bat second and play left field. Instead, Chris Coghlan will now occupy both of those roles while the newly-acquired Austin Jackson enters the lineup in the six hole and in right field.
The lack of Schwarber in the lineup is a knock to the daily fantasy value of all Cubs batters at the top of the order. The lone beneficiary is Reds' starter Raisel Iglesias. Iglesias enters with a 3.29 xFIP in 80 1/3 innings and is averaging 9.75 strikeouts per nine innings. The Cubs have the second-highest strikeout percentage in the league against right-handed pitching. Iglesias may not be a safe play with how great the Cubs' offense has been, but he certainly has upside with the high strikeout potential the matchup presents.
