Franklin Gutierrez homers, scores three runs in win for Mariners
Outfielder Franklin Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored, and the Seattle Mariners topped the Houston Astros 7-5 on Tuesday.
The second-inning home run, a solo blast, came off of Astros starter Scott Feldman. It opened the scoring for the game, putting the Mariners up 1-0, and was the 11th home run for Gutierrez.
Gutierrez has battled injuries this season, in addition to spending significant time in Triple-A, leading to just 43 games played for the Mariners. He's performed well while with the big league club, slashing .310/.358/.643, and posting a weighted on base average of .422. His nERD of 1.16 suggests the same, as this ranks him 70th overall.
