Giants' Johnny Cueto left Friday's start with blisters
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto's early exit from Friday's start was partially due to blisters on two of his fingers and thumb.
Cueto was ineffective against the San Diego Padres on Friday, but was also removed after just 82 pitches which was a bit curious. It's unclear if he'll be able to make his next scheduled start or if he'll be skipped once through the rotation to give the blisters time to heal.
Cueto has tossed a 4.59 ERA, with a 20.4 percent strikeout rate and 8.1 percent walk rate in 115 2/3 innings pitched in 2017.
