Cubs acquire Fernando Rodney from Mariners
The Chicago Cubs acquired relief pitcher Fernando Rodney from the Mariners for a player to be named later.
What It Means:
Rodney will join the bullpen on Friday. He'll help provide depth in the late innings for the Cubs with Jason Motte on the disabled list.
The 38-year-old hurler posted a troublesome 5.68 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 50 2/3 innings with the Mariners. His FIP of 5.26 doesn't look much better.
