Braves' Freddie Freeman (wrist) looking to return July 9th
Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman (wrist) hopes to return in time for a July 9th matchup with the Washington Nationals, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's David O'Brien.
Freeman suffered a fractured wrist back on May 17th and was expected to miss 10 to 12 weeks. But, if he makes it back by July 9th he would have beaten his original timetable by nearly three weeks. Freeman is expected to start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
Prior to injuring his wrist, Freeman had tallied 14 homers, 25 RBI and a ridiculous .476 wOBA through 37 games. Upon his return, we expect him to finish the year with 10 more dingers and 31 RBI.
