Rockies' Tyler Anderson to have procedure done on knee
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Tyler Anderson will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
The Rockies decided to put Anderson under the knife after two trips to the disabled list limited him to just two starts -- and only 3 1/3 innings -- this month. He's only expected to spend around four weeks on the shelf, so look for the 27-year-old left-hander to be back in the rotation by the beginning of August.
Anderson has struggled to a 6.11 ERA this season, but that's accompanied by a more acceptable 4.03 xFIP and 4.23 SIERA. He owns a 1.55 WHIP and 22.4 strikeout percentage while going 3-5 across 63 1/3 innings (12 starts).
