Matt Cain earns final spot in Giants rotation
San Fransico Giants manager Bruce Bochy announced Friday that pitcher Matt Cain will occupy the fifth spot in the club's starting rotation.
The veteran right-hander beat out Ty Blach for the spot despite posting a 7.82 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 25 1/3 innings this spring. The 32-year-old Cain likely won't have a long leash and may find himself out of the rotation pretty quick. He is not a pitcher to consider in fantasy.
NumberFire's algorithms project Cain for a 4-7 record with a 4.71 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 84 innings pitched this season.
