Diamondbacks' Phil Gosselin hits walkoff RBI single in Sunday's victory

Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Phil Gosselin came in as a pinch-hitter and smacked a walkoff RBI single to lift Arizona to a 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres on Sunday.

What It Means:

Gosselin stepped in with two outs and a runner on second with the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, and lined a Brad Hand offering to center field to drive in Socrates Brito for the winning run.

Gosselin saw a career-high 240 plate appearances this season, slashing .277/.324/.368 with an underwhelming .302 wOBA -- a big step back from the .376 wOBA he posted in 2015.
