Mariners' Felix Hernandez spins seven shutout innings in no-decision
Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez shut out the Toronto Blue Jays' bats for seven innings, taking a no-decision as the Mariners scored a 2-1 win in extra-innings.
The Mariners are still in the Wild Card race, and every win is a big one at this point. Hernandez had given up six runs in three of his last four starts, and you couldn't ask for a better time for him to return to form.
It has been a down year for Hernandez, and his 3.61 ERA is his worst since 2007, while his 4.64 SIERA, 18.9 percent strikeout rate and 10.3 percent walk rate are all the worst marks of his career.
