Jarrod Saltalamacchia crushes go-ahead home run for Tigers on Monday
Detroit Tigers catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia blasted a two-run home run to give the Tigers the lead in the eighth inning on Monday as they beat the Chicago White Sox 4-3.
The Tigers were down 3-2 with one out in the bottom of the eighth when Saltalamacchia stepped to the plate and took a Nate Jones offering deep for what would wind up being the tying and winning runs of the game.
It hasn't been a great year from the dish for Saltalamacchia, and he is slashing .192/.306/.404 through 242 plate appearances, while his .306 wOBA is well below his .318 career average.
