Giancarlo Stanton could return for final week of Marlins' season
Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (groin) could return for the final week of the regular season if things go "absolutely perfect," according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
Marlins' president of baseball operations Michael Hill said last week that Stanton is hoping to play in the final week of the season, so this is another positive report that Stanton might be able to play a little more in 2016. However, he is only two weeks removed from a Grade 3 groin strain, so it's still too early to tell if a return this year is possible.
Stanton is slashing .244/.329/.496 with a .351 wOBA across 432 plate appearances this season. He has 25 homers and 70 RBI's to go along with a 1.01 nERD.
