Giants' Matt Moore falls one out short of no-hitter Thursday
San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Moore was one out away from picking up a no-hitter as the Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 on Thursday.
Moore had the count at 1-1 when Corey Seager hit a single to right field, ending the no-hitter, and Moore's night as he was replaced for the final out of the game by Santiago Casilla.
Despite his 3.95 ERA being a huge improvement from last year's 5.43, Moore is still sporting a shaky 4.54 SIERA through 26 games this season. He owns a 20.3 percent strikeout rate and 8.8 percent walk rate across 161 2/3 innings pitched.
