Buster Posey getting day of rest for Giants on Thursday
San Francisco Giants catcher/first baseman Buster Posey is out of the starting lineup Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Posey is taking a breather after serving behind the plate for all 12 innings of Wednesday night's marathon loss to Philadelphia. He went 2-for-5 with three RBI's, but Trevor Brown will fill in and catch Matt Moore's Giants debut.
Posey is slashing .291/.364/.463 with a .351 wOBA, 12 homers, 60 runs scored and 50 RBI's across 401 plate appearances. Our models currently have him pegged for a .348 wOBA to go along with five homers and 25 RBI's over the rest of the 2016 campaign.
