Junior Guerra nearly has complete game shutout in Brewers' win
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Junior Guerra almost went the distance Friday as the Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1.
Guerra went 8 2/3 innings and was pulled with two outs in the ninth after allowing two guys to get on and one to come around and score. It would have been the first complete game shutout of his career, but it's still an excellent outing. He allowed four hits and one walk while striking out five batters on the night.
Guerra now owns a 2.70 ERA and 20.78 strikeout rate in 103 1/3 innings and 16 starts this season. Our models project him to throw 63 more innings this season while posting a 3.71 ERA and 17.40 strikeout rate.
