Rays' Logan Morrison (forearm) placed on disabled list
The Tampa Bay Rays placed first baseman Logan Morrison on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 28, with a right forearm strain.
Morrison just returned from the injury a couple days ago after being sidelined for a week, but he apparently was not feeling 100 percent and needs to revisit the disabled list. It's not yet known how long he will be out. Steve Pearce -- and his impressive .386 wOBA this season -- will likely see regular starts at first base, unless he ends up being traded.
Morrison is slashing just .228/.304/.371 with 10 home runs and a .295 wOBA in 329 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to hit .231/.306/.370 with five home runs and a .295 wOBA over the rest of the year.
