Twins send Eduardo Nunez to San Francisco
The Minnesota Twins have traded shortstop Eduardo Nunez to the San Francisco Giants for pitcher Adalberto Mejia.
Nunez had also been linked to the Cleveland Indians in trade rumors, but the versatile infielder ends up in San Francisco, where he will likely spend time at third base until Matt Duffy returns from his ankle injury.
Nunez, who ranks fourth in the majors with 27 stolen bases, is slashing .296/.325/.439 on the year (396 plate appearances), while his .327 wOBA is the second highest of his career. We project him to hit .283/.321/.407 over 242 plate appearances and to add 12 more stolen bases and 22 RBI's over the remainder of the season.
