Twins' Trevor Plouffe (rib) to take live batting practice Friday

Minnesota Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe (rib) will participate in live batting practice on Friday.

What It Means:

Plouffe has had no hitches in his recovery from a fractured rib and the Twins have seen enough in his progress that they are pushing up his scheduled batting practice to Friday. If all goes well, he should be able to begin a rehab assignment shortly thereafter.

Plouffe hasn't lived up to expectations for the Twins this season, recording a .252/.283/.399 slash and .292 wOBA in 231 plate appearances. His .682 OPS is the lowest since his rookie year.
