Dansby Swanson hitting second Monday for Cubs
Chicago Cubs infielder Dansby Swanson will start at shortstop and hit second in Monday's series opener against right-hander Merrill Kelly and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What It Means:
Seiya Suzuki hit second in the first 15 games of the season, but he was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right oblique strain. Swanson will move up three spots in the order, while Garrett Cooper will replace Suzuki at designated hitter and bat sixth. Miguel Amaya will start at catcher over Yan Gomes.
