Giants' Joe Panik (concussion) to begin rehab assignment Tuesday

San Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik (concussion) will begin his rehab stint with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

What It Means:

Panik, who has been out since June 26, suffered a setback on Friday, but seems to be recovering well again. If he can avoid any more setbacks, his return to the Giants should come very soon.

Panik wasn't having a great year from the plate before the injury, slashing .256/.321/.407 with a .314 wOBA in 304 appearances at the plate. He ranks 198th in the majors with a 0.02 nERD.
