Adrian Gonzalez hits grand slam for Dodgers

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez hit a grand slam in the first inning on Sunday to help lead the Dodgers to a 9-6 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday night.

What It Means:

The Dodgers jumped on rookie pitcher Mike Mayers in the first inning. LA hit two singles and drew a walk in front of Gonzalez, who smashed a grand salami to dead centerfield his first time up to bat. He ended the night 3-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBI's.

Gonzalez now has only nine homers on the year, but he is sporting a .284/.360/.412 slash line with 51 RBI's and a .333 wOBA over 400 appearances at the dish. Our models project him to post a similar .333 wOBA with six homers and 28 RBI's remaining this season.
