What It Means:

Latos has a 1.47 nERD, which ranks 92nd among all pitchers. He has a 4.48 ERA but a much better 3.54 xFIP, so he would seemingly make a solid addition to most pitching staffs. His strikeouts per nine have increased from 6.51 last year to 8.05 this year while surrendering just 2.55 walks per nine. Teams should be wary of Latos though, as our projections have him striking out just 6.65 batters per nine and producing a 4.18 ERA for the remainder of the season.
