Royals' Lorenzo Cain diagnosed with hamstring strain

Kansas City Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain left Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals with a hamstring strain.

What It Means:

Cain was 1-for-4 on the day, and he injured himself on the basepath, lunging to try to beat out a throw at first base.

He only ranks 169th with a 0.15 nERD, and his .323 wOBA and .126 ISO both fall below his career averages. Our numbers don't have things getting much better for him as we project him to post a .279/.324/.413 slash over the remainder of the season.
