Anthony Rizzo (back) feeling better, could play Saturday for Cubs
Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) is feeling better and it's "possible" he could return to the lineup Saturday, manager Joe Maddon said Friday.
Rizzo appears to be making some progress after back stiffness has forced him to miss three games over the past couple of weeks. Kris Bryant is manning first on Friday versus the Miami Marlins, while Javier Baez holds it down at third.
Rizzo is slashing an impressive .277/.402/.558 with a .403 wOBA, which ranks seventh-best. He has 17 homers and 54 RBI's in 296 plate appearances this season, and our models project him to post a .374 wOBA with 17 homers and 54 RBI's the rest of the way.
