Donovan Solano sitting Wednesday afternoon for Twins

Minnesota Twins infielder Donovan Solano is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Gavin Williams and the Cleveland Guardians.

What It Means:

Solano went 3-for-11 with a triple, a double, 3 RBI, and a run scored in the first two games of the series. Edouard Julien will start on first base Wednesday afternoon and Jorge Polanco will cover the keystone while Matt Wallner takes over at designated hitter. Willi Castro will take care of left field and Andrew Stevenson will enter the lineup to start in center field and bat ninth.

numberFire’s models project Julien ($2,800) for 10.5 FanDuel points on Wednesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Twins' implied total is 4.39 and the game total is 8.5. Williams has a 3.46 ERA and 4.29 xERA in his first big-league season. His 24.7% strikeout rate and 38.1% hard-hit rate are above average in 2023, but his 9.8% walk rate is in the bottom 29th percentile.
