Carlos Estevez serves as Rockies' closer on Saturday
Colorado Rockies pitcher Carlos Estevez pitched a perfect ninth inning for his first career save Saturday against the San Diego Padres.
With Jake Mcgee out with knee inflamation, initially it looked like Estevez and Jason Motte would share closer duties. However, Estevez looks to have the gig locked up until Mcgee is ready to return.
Through 20 1/3 innings in 2016, Estevez owns a 4.43 ERA and a strike out rate of 26.2. We project him to have a 3.98 ERA through another 34 innings remaining this season.
