Twins' Pablo Lopez taking mound Opening Day
Minnesota Twins pitcher Pablo Lopez has been named the Opening Day starter versus the Kansas City Royals.
Lopez will make his first career Opening Day start after the Twins traded for him in the offseason. He recorded a 3.75 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 174 strikeouts and 53 walks over 180 innings in 32 starts for the Miami Marlins in 2022. The right-hander turned 27 earlier this month.
numberFire's models project Lopez to score 25.1 FanDuel points on Opening Day. He's expected to record a 3.83 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over the course of the season, with 160 strikeouts and 51 walks.
