Danny Espinosa's homer leads Nationals past Cardinals
Washington Nationals infielder Danny Espinosa hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to lead the Nationals to a 2-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.
It was Espinosa's only hit of the evening, and he made it count, going yard off Mike Leake for what was only his fourth home run of the season.
Espinosa has largely struggled from the plate this year, posting a -1.99 nERD (good for only 346th in the Majors) in 175 plate appearances, and we project him to hit .226/.290/.365 with a .283 wOBA in 335 appearances at the plate over the remainder of the season.
