Tanner Roark yields two runs in Nationals' loss

Washington Nationals pitcher Tanner Roark held the New York Mets to two runs -- one earned -- over seven innings, but took the loss on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Roark got zero run support from the Nationals offense, falling to 3-4 on the year. He does have a 2.71 ERA in 63 innings (10 starts) this season, and he's whiffed 58 batters. The right-hander will hope for better luck next time out against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Roark lowered his xFIP to 3.51 this season, and his strikeout percentage dropped slightly to 22.0 percent. Our models currently project him to record a 4.12 ERA and just a 15.4 strikeout percentage over the remaining course of the season.
