Wil Myers out of Padres' lineup on Tuesday

San Diego Padres first baseman Wil Myers is not in the starting lineup Tuesday versus San Francisco Giants right-hander Jeff Samardzija.

What It Means:

AJ Cassavell of MLB.com notes that Myers had his troublesome left wrist wrapped following Monday's walkoff loss in San Francisco. The absence Tuesday night could be related. Myers got off to a nice start this season, but he's hitting just .218/.227/.345 with one walk and 17 strikeouts over 87 at-bats in May.

Myers' overall slash this season is .262/.290/.432 with seven home runs, six stolen bases and a .310 wOBA in 193 plate appearances. Our models currently project him to hit .247/.319/.405 with nine home runs, nine steals and a .315 wOBA over the remaining course of the season.
