Brett Gardner (elbow) aims to be back Friday for Yankees

New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner (elbow) hopes to be back in the lineup on Friday.

What It Means:

Gardner didn't start Thursday after being hit on the right elbow by a pitch Wednesday, although he did appear as a pinch-runner and stole a base. "I’d say it’s about the same," said Gardner. "I was able to sleep in kind of an awkward position and keep it elevated for the most part most of the night, so I think that helped out."

We project Gardner to hit .251/.345/.383 with a .324 wOBA in 510 appearances over the remainder of the season. His current slash reads .247/.371/.358 across 98 appearances with two homers and a .336 wOBA, in addition to four stolen bases.
