Astros' Carlos Gomez will miss a few games
Houston Astros outfielder Carlos Gomez will miss the next few games with soreness in his ribcage.
Gomez played Friday after missing a game after being hit in the wrist by a pitch. However, the ribcage injury cropped up after he dove for a ball in the outfield in Friday's game. X-rays were negative, but the Astros will hold him out for the next few games. Preston Tucker is starting in left field on Saturday, and might be in line for a few more starts while Gomez recovers.
Gomez is off to a slow start and is slashing .213/.241/.275 to start the season. His wOBA is just .229 in 2016 through 83 plate appearances, and his strikeout rate is on pace for a career high at 28.9 percent.
