Joey Wendle leading off for Rays in Thursday's opener
Tampa Bay Rays infielder Joey Wendle is leading off in Thursday night's series opener against right-hander Trent Thornton and the Toronto Blue Jays.
It's Wendle's second time leading off this season, with the first being on Monday. He went 1-for-3 with a steal out of the nine-hole on Wednesday in the second half of a doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles. The Rays have Austin Meadows, Tommy Pham, Ji-Man Choi, Travis d'Arnaud, Kevin Kiermaier, and Avisail Garcia lined up 2-7 on Thursday.
numberFire's models expect Wendle to score 9.5 FanDuel points. He's priced at $2,200. The Rays have an implied total of 5.10 runs as heavy home favorites on Thursday.
