Avisail Garcia (oblique) lands on Rays' 10-day
The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Avisail Garcia on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.
Garcia was pulled from Tuesday night's game against the San Diego Padres during an at-bat in the top of the fifth inning after feeling "something funny" around his oblique. He expected to avoid the IL, but that won't be the case. Austin Meadows is moving to right field on Wednesday afternoon versus the Padres while Tommy Pham (hand) is back in left.
Garcia is batting .278/.335/.459 with 17 homers, 19 doubles, 57 RBI, 9 steals, and 49 runs scored in 436 plate appearances (101 games) for the Rays this season.
