Neil Walker strains quad in Marlins' loss
Miami Marlins infielder Neil Walker has been diagnosed with a right quad strain.
Walker suffered the injury in Thursday afternoon's loss to the San Francisco Giants while running down the first-base line on a groundout in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Marlins are calling him day-to-day, but this injury typically requires a stint on the injured list.
Walker is batting .295/.375/.443 with 4 homers, 14 RBI, 12 runs scored, and 2 steals in 168 plate appearances this season.
