Jose Leclerc extends with Rangers through 2022
The Texas Rangers and closer Jose Leclerc agreed to a 4-year contract extension through 2022.
Leclerc wasn't eligible for arbitration until next winter and likely would have made a league-minimum salary this season. The 25-year-old closer posted a 1.56 ERA and 0.85 WHIP with 85 strikeouts across 57 2/3 innings in 2018 and went 12-for-16 on save opportunities.
numberFire's models expect Leclerc to record 28 saves with a 2.94 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts across 170 2/3 innings in 2019.
