Rangers activate rookie DeShields off of 15-day DL
After being sidelined for over 3 weeks with a hamstring injury, DeShields will start in center field for the Rangers tonight batting leadoff. Utility infielder Hanser Alberto has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
What It Means:
Before his injury, Delino DeShields was hitting .269 with a 0.335 wOBA and a 0.53 nERD. He returns tonight against LHP C.J. Wilson and division rival L.A. Angels. The Rangers rookie is batting .306/.370/.469 against lefties this year.
