The Braves have set an extremely high asking price. They reportedly requested starting pitcher Luis Severino from the New York Yankees and center fielder Joc Pederson from the Los Angeles Dodgers in return. Miller is only 25-years-old, but he is eligible for arbitration for the first time this winter and can become a free agent after the 2018 season. The Braves are in full rebuilding mode and want to collect as much cost-controlled talent as possible.

Miller had a solid year and set several career highs, including ERA (3.02), innings pitched (205.1) and home runs allowed per nine innings (0.57). However, his xFIP was significantly higher than his ERA, and at 4.07 it was the 22nd-worst. Our metrics still like Miller as he posted the 20th best nERD at 2.28. It will take a lot for him to be moved.
