MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 7/26/17

There are plenty of intriguing arms on Wednesday's MLB DFS slate, but Carlos Carrasco may top them all in a matchup with the Los Angeles Angels. Which other players should we target?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy looking team to put up some big point totals. We've also got our Solo Shot Podcast, which breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day. Here's today's episode.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate beginning at 7 pm Eastern.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitcher

Carlos Carrasco ($9,800 on FanDuel): There aren't a ton of pitchers on Wednesday's slate who present a high floor. Carlos Carrasco -- despite sometimes being a bit erratic -- seems to be one of them. He's having yet another stout season, sporting a 3.48 SIERA with a 27.9% strikeout rate and 6.7% walk rate. Those numbers may sell him short, though, because Carrasco has kicked things up a notch recently with a 34.2% strikeout rate in his past six starts. Carrasco's ceiling takes a ding as he faces a Los Angeles Angels team that has the second-lowest strikeout rate in the league against right-handed pitchers, but that's the one negative Carrasco presents. Most everything else points to him as being the top cash-game asset and one of the better tournament selections.
