Pedro Alvarez, 1B, Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles have the highest implied total on tonight's slate, at 5.36, as they take on Mike Pelfrey and the Tigers, while playing at home in the hitter-friendly Camden Yards.

Pelfrey is hard not to target any time he's getting a start. He owns a career 4.71 SIERA and has been even worse this year (5.43). He's especially bad against left-handed hitters, allowing a .350 wOBA with a 4.95 xFIP and 12.2 percent strikeout rate.

Pedro Alvarez, a lefty who will also benefit from the fact that Camden is especially kind to left-handed hitters, sports a career .340 wOBA and .227 ISO against right-handed pitching. While his 26.8 strikeout rate might be a concern in some matchups, Pelfrey's low strikeout rate helps to alleviate those concerns, while the matchup also gives Alvarez big upside.
